A Year of Simplifying

A Year of Simplifying

I was on the verge of a mental breakdown.  Three kids, a messy house, a full time job and not enough time do anything well. I would go days without showering and yet somehow portrayed the face of someone who was “doing it all”.  Let me tell you… I was doing lots of things and absolutely nothing well. A change was needed, life was too complicated and unnecessarily so in some ways.

Earlier this year, I committed to simplifying our lives. We needed to have less stuff to clean and more time to enjoy each other’s company.  We needed to get our budget in check and spend less, waste less and live more. I needed this for my health and our family’s future. Small changes all year have already made a big impact and I am thrilled to share some of our lives with you.

Until now my instagram account @simplyoneden has been my place to chronicle #ayearofsimplifying for family.  I have wanted to expand on these thoughts and successes for months in a blog form in hopes to encourage others to take a step back and simplify… to give yourself a fighting chance at being successful in “doing it all”.

Cheers to a simpler and more quality future ahead of us… and you.
